Child sex trafficking is the buying and selling of children (under age 18) for the purpose of sexual services. It is also known as Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children. Based on federal law (TVPA) no force, fraud, or coercion is needed to prove child sex trafficking. If a child is engaged in a commercial sex act, it is child sex trafficking.
Ransomed Life works directly with survivors of child sex trafficking and those considered high-risk. While every child is at risk of trafficking, there are a few factors that puts them at an even higher risk. Some of those factors include: runaways, unstable home life, and previous sexual abuse.
